The Matterhorn had been on my bucket list for years and despite planning for it a few times in the past the weather was always cloudy (no point in going if you can't see the mountain)
As luck would have it, my boyfriend was working on a construction site in Zermatt, and I happened to have the day off.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather, and the golden autumn colours made the landscape even more spectacular.
While he was at work, I set up my sketching chair and spent the an hour painting one of Switzerland's most iconic mountains. It was a long day but absolutely worth it.
